ACE Shuts Down Huge Football Piracy Ring, Total Destruction TBC
In January 2024, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) targeted a significant football piracy network operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This network, active since late 2020, utilized over 150 domains and subdomains to provide unauthorized live streams of major football leagues, including the Premier League, LaLiga, and Serie A. The sites collectively attracted millions of visitors monthly, with some domains receiving over a million visits in a three-month period. ACE’s enforcement actions led to these domains redirecting to their anti-piracy portal, effectively disrupting the network’s operations. However, due to the network’s complex structure and the operators’ tactics to evade detection, ACE acknowledged that confirming the complete dismantlement of the piracy ring remains challenging.
