AI tools are being used to detect and block pirate sites
At the World Intellectual Property Organization’s 17th Advisory Committee on Enforcement meeting in February 2025, Portugal’s NOS Technology unveiled an AI-powered anti-piracy toolkit. This system employs artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain to monitor and block unauthorized content at the ISP level without human intervention. It can oversee thousands of platforms simultaneously and uses predictive analysis to prevent piracy before it occurs. The Motion Picture Association supports such automated solutions, emphasizing their necessity in the rapidly evolving piracy landscape.
