Ajith Kumar's action drama 'Vidaamuyarchi' leaked online, hours after theatrical release
Ajith Kumar’s latest action film, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’, premiered on February 6, 2025. Despite proactive anti-piracy efforts by Lyca Productions, unauthorized copies appeared on illegal streaming platforms like Filmyzilla, Movierulez, Telegram, and Tamilrockerz within an hour of its release. These pirated versions were available in various resolutions, including high-definition formats. The film, marking Ajith Kumar’s return after a two-year hiatus, also features Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Vijay Ramya, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Industry experts warn that such piracy leads to significant financial losses and undermines the integrity of the film industry. Under the Indian Copyright Act of 1957, piracy is punishable by imprisonment and fines.
