Brazilian authorities target JustAnotherPanel over fake streams
Brazilian authorities have initiated a significant crackdown on streaming fraud by targeting JustAnotherPanel, a global service known for providing fake streams and other inauthentic interactions on digital platforms. The operation, led by the cybercrime unit Cyber Gaeco of São Paulo’s prosecutor’s office and supported by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and Pro-Música Brasil, resulted in a court order to block JustAnotherPanel’s operations across Brazil. This action disrupted at least 43 illegal local services and impacted over 1,131 foreign resellers. Investigations revealed that JustAnotherPanel operated an extensive botnet system to deliver these fake interactions, misleading fans and diverting revenue from legitimate artists. IFPI CEO Victoria Oakley emphasized that such fraudulent activities harm artists and erode trust in the music industry, while Pro-Música Brasil President Paulo Rosa highlighted stream manipulation as a major concern for the sector.
