Commission shuts down piracy website
The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), working alongside the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), has successfully suspended MovieBox.ng, a site notorious for streaming pirated movies, music, and live sports content. Director General John Asein urged Internet Service Providers and intermediaries to act swiftly on takedown notices in accordance with the Copyright Act of 2022. The public was also advised to avoid pirate platforms offering free downloads or streaming .
