Dutch gambling regulator cracks down on illegal newspaper ads aimed at young players
The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) concluded a six-month investigation into illegal gambling ads in newspapers and magazines. Many publications unknowingly promoted unlicensed online casinos, bypassing the national self-exclusion system (Cruks). The KSA warned 42 editorial teams, resulting in removal of the content and improved compliance guidance. The regulator also raised concerns about the growing influence of gambling-related content on social media targeting young audiences. This crackdown is part of broader enforcement, including fines and actions against illegal platforms and features like autoplay.
