Spain is considering legal action against Google for allegedly facilitating the illegal broadcast of La Liga matches through the New Play app. Representatives from Google Ireland and Google Commerce Limited have been summoned by a Spanish court to testify regarding their involvement in the app’s ad revenue. La Liga claims that despite requests, Google failed to remove the app from devices, potentially setting a precedent for tech companies’ accountability in piracy cases.
