South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Copyright Protection Agency held an international copyright enforcement meeting in Seoul to strengthen cooperation against overseas piracy of Korean content. The event brought together law enforcement agencies from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Interpol, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, Korean prosecutors, police, and major content companies including Naver Webtoon and Kakao Entertainment. Participants reviewed piracy investigations, shared intelligence on illegal distribution networks, and discussed joint operations targeting copyright offenders. Authorities highlighted recent successes, including arrests of illegal IPTV operators, streaming site operators, and major content uploaders linked to piracy networks across Asia.
