IBCAP-Coordinated Lawsuit Results in $24.9 Million Judgment against Jadoo TV and its CEO
The International Broadcaster Coalition Against Piracy (IBCAP) announced a $24.9 million judgment against Jadoo TV and its CEO, Sajid Sohail, for copyright infringement. The court found both parties liable for direct, contributory, and vicarious infringement, with Sohail personally responsible as the “guiding spirit” behind the violations. As part of the settlement, Jadoo TV agreed to cease all operations worldwide by December 22, 2024, transfer customer lists, trademarks, and domain names to DISH Network, and pay an additional $1.5 million by February 20, 2025.
