IBCAP welcomes Italy’s Rai as newest member of anti-piracy coalition
The International Broadcaster Coalition Against Piracy (IBCAP) has welcomed Italy’s national broadcaster RAI (through Rai Com) as its latest member, expanding the coalition’s reach into Italian-language content . IBCAP, representing over 220 channels, has been strengthening its anti-piracy efforts by enlisting major players like BBC, NHK, and DIRECTV, and now RAI joins this collective push .
IBCAP’s 2025 annual report highlights multiple successes: it efficiently disrupted thousands of illicit streams—especially cricket matches—used automated tools for real-time takedowns, and filed significant lawsuits and takedown notices against pirates and hosting services .
By bringing RAI onboard, the coalition will now actively monitor and act against piracy of popular Italian channels, including RAI Uno and RAI Italia, such as live Serie A broadcasts, entertainment shows, and regional programming . This move reinforces IBCAP’s mission to reduce global piracy across multiple languages and regions.
