India's entertainment industry battles a relentless foe: Digital Piracy
India’s entertainment industry is grappling with rampant digital piracy, leading to significant revenue losses. Despite investments in anti-piracy measures, premium content is often leaked online shortly after release. A 2023 EY-IAMAI report estimated losses at ₹22,400 crore, with 51% of consumers accessing pirated content. The 19-34 age group constitutes 76% of these consumers, highlighting a widespread issue that undermines the industry’s sustainability.
