Kakao Entertainment shuts down four illegal websites for pirating K-content

Kakao Entertainment has shut down four illegal websites pirating Korean content through its anti-piracy team, P.CoK. Among them was Mangaku, a Southeast Asian site with over 18 million monthly visitors, active since 2008. Other sites included Brazil’s Norte Rose Scan, the U.S.-based “R,” and a WordPress subpage called Bluebells in Bloom. P.CoK utilized tracking technology and direct contact to facilitate these shutdowns. To date, Kakao has closed over 25 such sites and plans to continue collaborating with global institutions to combat piracy.
