English Premier League clubs warned over promoting illegal gambling sites in Britain
Britain’s Gambling Commission has issued warnings to three Premier League clubs—Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Leicester City—regarding the promotion of unlicensed gambling websites on their jerseys. An investigation revealed that Stake.uk.com, Everton’s sponsor, is not a licensed gambling site, leading to its impending shutdown by operator TGP Europe Ltd. Similarly, Nottingham Forest’s sponsor, Kaiyun, and Leicester City’s sponsor, BC Game, are under scrutiny. The Commission cautioned club officials that they could face fines or imprisonment if found guilty of promoting unlicensed gambling businesses. This action follows a prior agreement by Premier League clubs to cease featuring gambling sponsorships on their kits from the 2026-27 season.
