Kakao Entertainment Report States It Blocked 240 Million Cases of Piracy in 2nd Half of 2024
Kakao Entertainment, a leading South Korean company in the webtoon and web novel sectors, reported that it blocked approximately 240 million instances of illegal distribution of its content during the latter half of 2024. The company identified over 1,000 illicit websites and social media accounts involved in these unauthorized distributions. In collaboration with law enforcement agencies, Kakao Entertainment pursued legal actions against 130 operators of these illegal platforms. The company emphasized its commitment to protecting the intellectual property rights of its creators and maintaining the integrity of its content. Kakao Entertainment also plans to enhance its monitoring and enforcement mechanisms to further combat digital piracy in the future.
