Netflix gets U.S. rights to FIFA Women’s World Cup
Netflix has secured exclusive U.S. broadcasting rights for the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments in 2027 and 2031, marking the first time the streaming platform will fully broadcast a major sports competition.
The 2027 tournament is scheduled to take place in Brazil from June 24 to July 25, while the host nation for the 2031 edition will be determined in 2025.
In addition to live match coverage, Netflix plans to produce exclusive documentary series highlighting top players and the global growth of women’s football leading up to both tournaments.
This strategic move signifies Netflix’s deeper foray into live sports broadcasting, aiming to enhance its content offerings and attract a broader audience.
