Norway regulator blocks 57 illegal gambling websites
Norway’s gambling regulator, Lotteritilsynet, has blocked 57 illegal online gaming websites linked to 23 companies. This DNS blocking redirects users to an explanatory page, clarifying that accessing these sites isn’t illegal for individuals. The action follows prior warnings, leading nearly 40 websites to exit the Norwegian market. Additional measures include advertising restrictions and banking transaction blocks to unlicensed operators. Despite these efforts, a survey indicates about 50% of Norwegian players are unaware of which operators are legal.
