Philippine sports body allays fears of Olympic, Asiad, SEA Games ban
In January 2024, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) addressed concerns about a potential ban from international competitions, including the Olympics, Asian Games, and Southeast Asian Games, due to non-compliance with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations. PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann assured that the Philippine National Anti-Doping Organization (PHI-NADO), under the PSC’s guidance, had taken prompt actions to rectify any compliance issues. By March 2024, WADA cleared the Philippines from its compliance watchlist, confirming the country’s adherence to anti-doping standards.
