Positive Signals for OTE's Performance as Data Usage and Subscription Growth Surge
In the third quarter of 2024, OTE Group reported a 2.5% increase in revenues, reaching €832.5 million, driven by growth in its Greek operations. This positive performance is attributed to a surge in data usage and a growing subscriber base.
Data Usage: Average monthly data consumption per user rose to 16.0 GB, up from 14.2 GB in the same quarter of the previous year, reflecting a 13% year-on-year increase.
Subscription Growth:
• Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH): The company added 31,000 new FTTH subscribers during the quarter, bringing the total to 355,000. This represents a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
• Television Services: OTE’s TV subscriber base grew by 7% year-on-year, reaching 710,000. This marks the largest increase in the past two years, attributed to the mutual distribution agreement of sports content between OTE and Nova, enhancing the pay-TV market in Greece.
Overall, OTE Group’s robust growth in data usage and subscription numbers underscores its strong market position and effective strategies in the telecommunications sector.
