Previously-Convicted IPTV Pirates Arrested For Running $10m IPTV66 Service
In a sweeping anti-piracy operation called Operation Domo, authorities in the Dominican Republic arrested four individuals running IPTV66, an IPTV piracy service alleged to have generated USD 10 million in revenue over four years.
The accused were reportedly previously convicted in the U.S. for piracy offenses, though details of those past convictions are not fully disclosed.
The crackdown was conducted with help from the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), as well as U.S. law enforcement. Dozens of raids were carried out, seizing equipment, real estate, and documents.
Despite the arrests, the IPTV66 domain remained operational at the time of reporting, leading to questions over whether the network was fully dismantled.
The suspects face charges including copyright infringement, high-tech crimes, and money laundering under Dominican law.
