Telegram Cracks Down on Webtoon Piracy and Copyright Violations
Telegram has committed to removing pirated copyrighted materials and other illegal content, according to a statement made to the Korea Communications Commission. This includes unlawful deepfake videos and unauthorized distribution of copyrighted materials originating in South Korea. P.CoK, the global anti-piracy task force owned by Kakao Entertainment, shared a screenshot on its X/Twitter account showing a pirated manhwa Telegram channel stripped of its content. The message “This message couldn’t be displayed on your device due to copyright infringement” now replaces the removed materials.
