Thailand continues crackdown on illegal gambling at home
Thailand is intensifying its crackdown on illegal gambling within its borders. Recently, authorities arrested 218 individuals, identified as gamblers or bookmakers, at an alleged illegal gambling venue in Nakhon Nayok province. During the raid, chips and cash worth approximately THB3 million (US$89,000) were seized. This action aligns with Thailand’s broader strategy to legalize land-based casinos and potentially online gambling, aiming to regulate the industry and curb illicit activities.
